• What I can do for you!

Here a list of services I can offer you and your family.

Specialized Treatment

I am trained in specialized cognitive behavioral treatments for children and youth with problematic sexual behavior and those who have been sexually abused by a youth or adult.  I attend approximately 30 hours of additional training per year to keep up with new developments in evidence based treatments. In 2017, I began to use EMDR as part of individual therapy. Please read more about these types of treatment under the articles/resources section.

Individual & Family Therapy

Typically, clients have a goal or problem they want to solve in therapy, and then it’s my job to guide them.  Caregiver participation is of the utmost importance when treating children. Individual sessions may be 45 minutes or 55 minutes depending on insurance.  Family sessions are 60 minutes. All the insurance, fees and scheduling information is handled by my front office staff at Woodhaven Counseling.

Speaking

I’m available for community groups large and small to talk about topics related to sexual abuse, sexualized behavior, human sexuality, mental health, foster care and family communication.  Additional topics for human service professionals include conceptualization of sexual abuse, collaborative techniques and family therapy.  Please email me so I can tailor my presentation to fit your needs.

Classes

I’m am a trained facilitator for Darkness To Light, a two hour video based sexual abuse prevention and education program. Darkness 2 Light can be provided for groups from 5 to 50.  Learn more about it at www.d2l.org and email me to schedule a training.

Resources

Over the years, I have collected a list of current research, books, videos, websites and resources for caregivers, clinicians and human service providers. I have also written many of my own articles to help the families that I work with in therapy. These are available under the articles/resources section and you are welcome to copy them as long as you maintain myself as the author.  If you need something that’s not listed, please contact me via email.

Consultation

Sometimes therapists get stuck on a case or they are not sure they are going in the right direction. If  you are a human service provider and would like to consult with me or get detailed information about treatment interventions, let me know. Consultation sessions are usually 30 or 60 minutes and are scheduled with me personally through email.
